This Spring Festival I took a bus down south to be with my girlfriend, Li Yumei, and her family. It was actually my first Chinese New Year in China. Last year, I was in a village in the mountains of Laos, drinking whiskey mash out of a clay jar with Andrew and a bunch of Khamou guys.
